Kalbaj shpk Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Kalbaj shpk! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website www.kalbajrentals.com (the “Website”) and your rental of vehicles (“Vehicles”) through our services (the “Services”). By using the Website or renting a Vehicle from Kalbaj shpk, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Rental Qualifications and Requirements

• You must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license from your country of residence held for a minimum of one year.
• An International Driver’s Permit (IDP) is highly recommended for renters whose licenses are not in the Latin alphabet.
• You must have a valid credit or debit card in your name with sufficient funds to cover the rental charges and security deposit. Debit cards and cash payments are also accepted at our discretion.
• Additional drivers must meet the same qualifications and be registered at the time of rental.

Vehicles and Availability

Kalbaj shpk offers a variety of vehicles for rent in Albania. The specific vehicles available will vary depending on availability and season. We cannot guarantee the availability of any specific vehicle. We reserve the right to substitute a similar or higher-class vehicle if your chosen vehicle is unavailable.

Rental Rates and Payment

Rental rates are displayed on the Website and are subject to change. Rates are quoted in Euros (EUR) and include standard Third-Party Liability Insurance (TPL) required by Albanian law. Additional charges may apply for optional insurance coverage, one-way rentals, exceeding daily mileage limits, or out-of-border travel.

• Security Deposit: A security deposit of EUR 200 will be authorized on your credit or debit card at the time of online reservation. Cash payments for the deposit are also accepted at our discretion.
• Rental Payment: The remaining rental balance will be due at the time of vehicle pick-up. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro cards, debit cards, and cash (at our discretion).

Security Deposit

A security deposit of EUR 200 will be authorized on your credit card at the time of online reservation. The deposit will be released within 7 business days of vehicle return, pending any outstanding charges for damages, tolls, speeding tickets, or other violations.

Insurance

All Kalbaj shpk vehicles come with mandatory TPL insurance. Optional insurance coverage, such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP), is available for purchase at an additional cost. Please refer to our rental agreement for specific details regarding insurance coverage and limitations. Vehicles from 2014 and newer are covered by comprehensive insurance, including collision damage waiver (CDW) and theft protection. For older vehicles, damages will be the renter’s responsibility.

Damage caused by other parties in an accident will not be charged to the renter, provided a police report is filed.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are rented with a like for like policy. If the car is delivered with full tank of fuel, it must be returned with a full tank. A refueling fee will be applied if the vehicle is returned less than what is was when picking up.

Mileage

Vehicles have a daily mileage limit of 250 kilometers (km). An excess mileage fee of EUR 0.50 per kilometer will be charged for exceeding the daily limit.

One-Way Rentals

One-way rentals between our Tirana International Airport and Tirana City Office locations are permitted at no additional charge. One-way rentals to other locations may be subject to additional fees. Please inquire at the time of booking.

Out-of-Border Travel

Travel to neighboring countries such as Kosovo, Greece, Montenegro, and North Macedonia requires prior authorization from Kalbaj shpk. Additional fees and insurance requirements may apply. Please contact us before your rental to discuss your travel plans.

Prohibited Uses

Vehicles are prohibited from being used for:

• Off-road driving
• Towing or carrying excessive loads
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Participating in any racing or competitive events
• Transporting illegal goods or persons

Accidents and Breakdowns

In the event of an accident or breakdown, you are required to immediately contact Kalbaj shpk and file a police report if necessary. Our contact details will be provided in your rental agreement.

Cancellations and booking changes

All reservations can be canceled without any fee within 48 hours before the reservation pickup date. Please make sure to give us a call beforehand to avoid reservation fees. For cancelations 48 hours or less from the booking start date we can charge up to 2 days worth of the daily rate for the specific car. Changes and modifications to the start date and return date can be without extra fees but if there is a different rate for the new days that will be applied to the final charge.

Deposit return 

All bookings have a 200 euro deposit fee which will be returned to the renter upon vehicle delivery and inspection. In most cases, the return of the deposit is immediate to the car return and inspection but in there are times it can take a maximum of 7 days from the car return. 

Late Returns

Late returns will be charged at the standard daily rental rate plus any applicable fees. No extra fees within a reasonable delay of 3 hours maximum. In all cases of delay on the return is advised to contact us to avoid extra fees.

Vehicle Condition

You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle that occurs during your rental period, unless such damage is caused by a collision not attributable to your fault.

Limitation of Liability

Kalbaj shpk shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Website or the Services, including without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Albania.

Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Albanian Arbitration Association. You and Kalbaj shpk agree that the arbitration shall be held in Tirana, Albania, and that the proceedings shall be conducted in the Albanian language. The decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding on all parties.

Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Kalbaj shpk with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Waiver

No waiver by Kalbaj shpk of any breach of any provision of these Terms shall be construed as a waiver of any other or subsequent breach.

Notices

All notices and other communications hereunder shall be in writing and shall be deemed to have been duly given when delivered personally, sent by certified or registered mail, return receipt requested, postage prepaid, or sent by overnight courier, addressed as follows:

• If to you: At the email address or mailing address provided by you during the reservation process.

Headings

The headings used in these Terms are for convenience only and shall not be considered part of these Terms or be used in the construction or interpretation of any provision hereof.

Assignment

You may not assign your rights or obligations hereunder without the prior written consent of Kalbaj shpk.

Third-Party Beneficiaries

These Terms are not intended to confer any rights or remedies upon any person other than the parties hereto.

Force Majeure

Kalbaj shpk shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations hereunder due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including, without limitation, acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, civil unrest, labor strikes, government regulation, or natural disasters.

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Kalbaj shpk and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.

By using the Website or renting a Vehicle from Kalbaj shpk, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them.
